About TOSFED Istanbul Park

Located on Istanbul’s Asian side in the Tuzla/Akfırat region, TOSFED Istanbul Park is an international racing complex built on an area of 2,215,000 m². The track was designed by renowned German architect Hermann Tilke. Since its opening in 2005, it has hosted the world’s most prestigious motorsport events, including Formula 1. Today, it is operated by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED).

Iconic Corner – Turn 8

Turn 8, the feature that brought Istanbul Park worldwide fame, is approximately 640 meters long and consists of a quadruple-apex layout. It is regarded by Formula 1 drivers as one of the most physically demanding corners in the world.

History
  • 2003: Construction began.
  • 2005: Opened and hosted the first Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix.
  • 2005–2011: Featured on the Formula 1 calendar for seven consecutive years.
  • 2020–2021: Returned to F1 as part of the pandemic calendar.
  • 2024–Present: The circuit began operating under the management of TOSFED.

With a spectator capacity of around 155,000, TOSFED Istanbul Park stands as Turkey’s largest motorsport venue. It features a modern pit complex, garages, a media center, and facilities designed to host events across various categories.
