Veiby Claims Victory as World RX of Türkiye Gets Underway

The World RX of Türkiye, the final round of the 2024 FIA World Rallycross Championship, delivered breathtaking action at Istanbul Park, organized by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED).

Supported by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Spor Toto, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Tuzla Municipality, the event thrilled spectators with unforgettable moments on the revamped asphalt-and-gravel track, complemented by spectacular drift shows.

In today’s opening races of the “Battle of Technologies” — where electric and combustion-powered cars go head-to-head — Ole Christian Veiby emerged victorious, with Niclas Grönholm finishing second and Kevin Hansen securing third to complete the podium.

Meanwhile, Johan Kristofferson clinched his seventh World Rallycross Championship title this weekend. The second round of races will take place tomorrow.
