The 2024 FIA World Rallycross Championship finale will be held on November 9–10 at Istanbul Racing Circuit, organized by our federation. Supported by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Spor Toto, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and Tuzla Municipality, the event will deliver door-to-door, breathtaking battles on a renewed mixed surface of asphalt and gravel.
The “Battle of Technologies,” where electric cars face off against petrol-powered machines, will give fans an adrenaline-filled weekend over two days. Johan Kristofferson will be on the grid in pursuit of his fifth consecutive championship title. The event will be broadcast live on S Sport Plus and aired across many European countries. Tickets are available at www.Mobilet.com.
TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı expressed his excitement at bringing the World Rallycross Championship back to Türkiye, with agreements secured for the 2025 and 2026 seasons as well. He said:
“Only a short time after opening our country’s largest sports facility to Turkish motorsport, we are proud to host one of the world’s most important racing series. For a long time, we emphasized that reopening the track would allow us to bring many international series to Türkiye, contributing both to sports tourism and to promoting our country. In this context, we are proud to have secured a World Championship event again, so soon after the first competition held on the newly reopened circuit.” He also noted the significant effort invested in restoring the heavily damaged track.
WRX Promoter CEO Arne Dirks stated:
“We would like to give special thanks to TOSFED for organizing the season finale on such short notice, allowing us to conclude the championship at such a prestigious venue. We look forward to continuing our long-standing cooperation with TOSFED to host more races here in the future.”
